Blessberg Railway Tunnel

At the Blessberg railway tunnel in Stelzen, Germany, Tsurumi submersible dewatering pumps, KTZ-series, solved a challenging problem. This tunnel length would be over 8km at the completion. It was said that this would be the fourth-longest tunnel in Germany. The long adit is very narrow; it is hard to drain the sump water.
As a solution, the contractor has adopted "tandem operation" of KTZ35.5 pumps. Several units of the pump were installed in a discharge pipeline and acted as the booster.
